Regional Fine Art Show opens in September

The LaFontaine Arts Council (LAC) is officially resuming the Regional Fine Art Show! The LAC will present the Regional Fine Arts Show at the Huntington Arts & Entrepreneurial Center at 32 E. Franklin Street in downtown Huntington. The show will open September 6, 2024 and will wrap up on September 27, 2024. This year’s judge is to be determined.

Regional artists can enter work in three different categories: 2D, Photography and Graphic Design, and 3D. 2D artwork will include painting, drawing, printmaking, 2-D mixed media, collage, etc. 3D artwork will include Sculpture, Ceramic, Wood, Metal, Mixed Media, Textiles, Weaving, Jewelry, etc.

All participants must register online at http://lafontaineartscouncil.org/regional-fine-art-show. An entry fee of $20 includes two entries in any category. Additional entries are $5 apiece. No more than five total entries will be accepted from each artist. Entree fees can be mailed to P.O. Box 55 Huntington IN 46750, dropped off at the Gallery at 32 E. Franklin Street, or paid online via the link on the entry form web page.

First, second and honorable mention awards will be granted in each category, along with a Best in Show. Awards will range from $75 to $150 with a best of show award of $250. More details are available on the LAC web site.

Entry forms are due by Tuesday, August 27, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. and all artwork must be delivered to the gallery on Saturday August 31 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Awards will be announced at the Opening Reception on Friday, September 6, 2024 between 6 and 8 p.m. The show will run from September 6 through September 27.
